7 months old

The other night Ron started laughing from the other room and told me there was something I needed to see. He brings Katelyn into the office and asks me, "What is wrong with this picture?"

Apparently she was kicking around so much that both legs ended up in one side of her pajamas.

                         I guess she was trying to dress up like a mermaid again.

Yesterday Katelyn turned 7 months old. It's amazing how much she has changed in one month. She crawls everywhere now like she has been doing it for months. She can even pull herself up into a standing position on her own.

                              She loves her learning table her Aunt Cathy bought her.

Before long Ron and I will be chasing her around the house....wait, we are already doing that.

Unstoppable

Katelyn is 6 months old and all over the place. She can crawl like a champ now, watching her you'd think she has been doing it for months. It's amazing how fast they pick things up. She is even able to go from crawling to sitting on her own.

It's just amazing how fast they grow the first year. Each month becomes more fun than the last.

                 She is really into playing with her toys now too.

Ron and I are still making Katelyn's baby food. I love this picture of the two of them watching it cook.

I often have people ask me how the cats are doing with Katelyn. I think they accept her as one of them due to her size. No Kahlua isn't about to eat her, I caught him in the middle of a yawn.

     The funny thing is, Katelyn and Kahlua weigh the same right now.

Unfortunately Katelyn isn't always "gentle" with the kitties and she gets upset when they run from her.

                           Bailey is watching her take a bath.

She loves bath time. I am looking forward to the weather getting warmer so we can put her in the pool with us. She will never want to get out.
Katelyn is wasting no time. She is already grabbing things above her so she can try to stand up. Ron and I are in so much trouble ahead! I wouldn't trade a minute of it though.

Katelyn officially turned 6 months old today. Cheryl came over and took pictures for me to mark the half way point to her first birthday. I can't believe it's been half a year already since she was born.

Sitting, Crawling and Teething

Ron and I were just discussing how Katelyn turned into a new baby overnight. In just one week she cut her first two bottom teeth, learned how to sit on her own and is ohh so close to crawling.

The baby gate is coming out of the box and we have to begin "baby-proofing" the house this week. Gone are the days of knowing Katelyn was where ever we put her down last.

                      This is her look of deep concentration.

She's even already starting to look like my little girl instead of my baby girl. She will be turning 6 months old in just three days. Where has half a year gone already?

Christmas Time

There's a reason they say Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. At the Newbern house that couldn't be more true. This was by far the best Christmas I ever had.

We had a fabulous Christmas and enjoyed spending it with our family. Katelyn was the best Christmas present Ron and I could have ever hoped for. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, but it is so much more fun when you have a child to share it with. Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to everyone!

Visiting Family

I can't believe I haven't had time to do a new blog since Thanksgiving. So much has happened since then. Last month we drove down to Sebastian, Fl. so Katelyn could meet her great grandparents for the first time.

                         Katelyn loved her great grandpa McCauley!

            Katelyn had a great time playing with great grandma too. Unfortunately it was a quick two day visit, but we all had a wonderful time visiting and look forward to returning for another visit soon.

Katelyn also got to see her great aunt Cindy a few weeks ago. Aunt Cindy stopped by on her way back home to Georgia to drop off Katelyn's Christmas presents!

Katelyn loved all the presents aunt Cindy brought her and was happy to spend time with her aunt. Ron and I are so thankful we have family that enjoys spending time with Katelyn and care about her so much.
