Rice cereal

I am very excited about today's blog. First of all, Katelyn is now four months old. I was taken aback the other day when I saw a newborn that was Katelyn's size when she was born. I couldn't believe how much she has grown in just four quick months. It is extremely sad but so exciting at the same time watching her grow. For instance, today was the first time we fed Katelyn rice cereal.

I was surprised how well she did and she really seemed to enjoy it. Of course more was out than in, but it was a lot of fun for both of us....not so much for dad though. For those who know Ron, his OCD meter was was going off big time. After only a few bites he already had a sponge in hand and was wiping off the highchair.

            It's funny how something so simple as rice cereal can seem like such a huge milestone.

                                       Slow down Katelyn...you are growing too fast.    

Trick or Treat

Today we celebrated Katelyn's first Halloween. I found this adorable costume on Etsy.com (I LOVE that website). Katelyn must have loved playing dress-up because she was nothing but smiles the whole time. 

I almost didn't get Katelyn a costume this year because she is so young, but when I saw this I knew I had to get it. Especially since her nursery theme is mermaids. Unfortunately, I have my work cut out for me next year on finding something more cute than this.

During the evening we went to Palm Coast to meet Meredith and Christopher to join them in trick-or-treating. We had a great time!

First Cold

Last night Katelyn finally came down with the cold I have been battling since Saturday. Although I tried my best to stay away from her and let daddy take over full time, she still got sick. Today was my first shift I called out sick not only for myself but for Katelyn as well. After a long day at the doctors office and a trip to target for the necessary items i.e. humidifier, medicine and of course a few new toys, we went home so Katelyn could get some rest and extra mommy time. After sleeping most of the day, Katelyn wanted to play for 30 minutes before finally calling it a night.

She sat in her chair and played with her new toys her Aunt Cindy sent to her in the mail this week from Georgia. She was having a great time until....

She realized she couldn't move her legs because the tray was in her way.....

And so began the melt down (totally got this attitude from dad btw), and proceeded to rectify her problem by kicking the tray.

                      And once the tray went flying, all was right in the world again.

Mind you... all these events, and pictures, took place in about a 30 second time frame. That face of don't lock me in like that again is cracking me up. I have to give her credit, the girl knows what she wants. Mommy's little pumpkin indeed... I hope you feel better tomorrow baby girl.

Jaelyn's First Birthday!

Today was Katelyn's cousin Jaelyn's first birthday. We had a lot of fun at her party and I can't believe Jaelyn turned 1! It seems just like yesterday we were all at the hospital awaiting her arrival into this world. Her mommy Shawna did such a great job for her birthday.

Happy first birthday Jaelyn! We love you so much and we are so proud of the fun, beautiful little girl you have become. Katelyn is so lucky to have you as a cousin to grow up with. Congrats Shawna, I know you couldn't be prouder of her too. We love you guys!

First Pumpkin Patch

We took Katelyn to her first pumpkin patch. It's really exciting that so many holidays are coming up and all the fun events we get to do now that we are parents.

You can notice that Katelyn is completely surrounded by objects. This is because prior to this picture we tried to just sit her against a pumpkin to take a picture and she did a face plant into the mulch before either one of us could catch her. Thankfully she only sustained a very minor scratch on her head, but she did give me a look of, "Cheryl never lets me get hurt when SHE takes my pictures."

3 Months Old

I am so behind in my blogs I don't even know where to start. For one thing Katelyn is now 3 months old!

I don't know where the time is going, but it is going way too fast. She is no longer my infant, but officially my baby girl now. She loves to play and explore new things everyday. It seems like there is always something new. She is such a joy in our lives and we are so thankful she is a part of it. Happy third month birthday Katelyn!
